IMPLANT DENTISTRY

Implant dentistry is becoming more routine every day. It is now considered a less-invasive treatment to replace missing teeth. Implants are metal posts that are placed beneath the gums into the jaw. The implant then fuses with the jawbone to provide support for tooth replacement. Single crowns can be placed on an implant for a completely natural appearance. Bridges and dentures can be mounted on implants to prevent slipping or shifting in the mouth. This secure fit makes crowns, bridges and dentures all feel more natural.

Implants are being used to restore all missing teeth in the upper jaw or lower jaw by a technique referred to as All on Four. This creates a fixed full arch prosthesis that eliminates the need for a removable complete denture. Four implants are placed at strategic positions in the jaw, then the prosthesis, complete with all the teeth, is attached to them. This is a very aesthetic state-of-the-art treatment.
